Well the snow storm didn't amount to diddley. We ended up with about a 1/2 inch of snow or so on the ground this morning. We must have caught the extreme southern tip of the snow and got next to nothing. The roads are cleared - it didn't even stick to them since the ground's been so warm lately. It started off with a fury last night - we got 1 solitary thunder rumble and lightning flash, then some really heavy snow for a bit. I thought we would probably get the hard hit that the weather people were predicting. Tricia woke up around midnight and looked outside and said that there wasn't much on the ground and then I woke up around 4:30AM and there was still hardly anything on the ground. All in all it was a big to-do about nothing.
Our cat Zeb must know and understand threats. He likes to jump up on our bed before our alarm clock goes off to wake us up. There's nothing worse than a 23 pound cat with knife-like paws crawling on you at 5AM. One evening Tricia talked to him and told him that if he woke us up before our alarm clock goes off in the morning, we would gladly sell him to someone who would love to make cat soup out of him. Sure enough, next morning there was no Zeb on the bed until the 6:25AM alarm. OK, that's a coincidence, right? Nope. Every night that we tell him not to wake us up before the alarm, he doesn't. When we haven't given him a "talking to", he's up on the bed meowing (or in Zeb language 'meh-ing'...he doesn't give full-on meows) well before the alarm goes off. Last night I told him not to wake us up before the alarm and even though we were up at 6AM, he simply jumped on the bed and went to sleep so as to not disturb us until the time was right. In this respect, he's the smartest.
Bubba (Karl) refuses to drink water out of the pet-community bowl. He likes to drink out of my cup that I keep on my nightstand. He's also the most respectful one in the mornings, as he lets us actually get out of bed before pestering us for food.
Earl...well, Earl's a special dog. That's about all I can say about him. He's got personality plus, that's for sure. I can't even begin to list all of his quirks. It's hard to say how he got his quirks living with us, huh...
For those of you who don't know the boys, here are some pictures of them. Some of these will show a glimpse into their personalities.
