This was the 3rd day out of 4 this week of severe weather for us in mid-MO. Mike had to take shelter at work for almost 2 hours. I had to take shelter for over an hour at work. The girls took shelter at daycare for over an hour. Crazy. I was stuck in my office with 40 kindergarteners and 2 other teachers. One of the teachers is terrified of storms and so am I, so we are not a good match together. We learned this earlier in the year when we had to take shelter. She and I spend the time shushing the kids and checking our cell phones. Trying to get reception out in the country and check on our families. Mike emailed me at one point and said that he'd heard the area where our house is was going to get hit hard. Luckily he was wrong. Our house is fine and so are we.

Would it be too much to ask for some sunshine?

Book Recommendations
I've been reading almost all the time lately. If anyone wants to read some good books, you should try:
1. Water for Elephants
2. The Help
3. The Hunger Games Series - It's a young adult series but I really enjoyed it. I actually was somewhat surprised that I liked it as much as I did.
4. Sarah's Key
5. The Glass Castle
6. Half-Broke Horses
I know there are more that I've read recently that I've really liked but these have stuck out in my mind.

We jumped the gun
Brynn was not as ready as we thought for the big girl bed. We (Mike, Brynn, and I) have not had a good night's sleep in almost a week. We caved and put her crib back in the room and took the big girl bed out. We also purchased a crib tent so that she can't climb out. She took her nap in it today with very little protest. She cried for about 10-15 minutes which is fantastic compared to the 2+ hours she did in the middle of the night last night in her big kid bed. So, I guess we'll try again in a few months. Hopefully she will not be permanently scarred from this experience. Our whole goal with child-rearing is to get them through with as little therapy needed as possible. You don't think this will be remembered years down the road, do you? :)

Big Girl
We bought Brynn a big girl bed this weekend. It's not in her room yet but will be soon. Pictures to follow! I can't believe my baby is big enough to have a real bed.
