Libby's Birthday Party

Libby had a blast at her party. Several of her friends were able to come and they had a good time. We played musical chairs and a pin the tail on the donkey game but with a Toy Story theme. Libby was so happy to show her friends around the house and play with them. Then we allowed the kids to decorate their own cupcakes. They really enjoyed it.

My friend Keri walked in a little late and said that she would have thought it was Brynn's party if she didn't know better.

Long live Princess Brynn. She literally sat in the middle of the group, dressed up in a princess dress and wearing a tiara.

Our Awesome Children

We had a parent-teacher conference tonight with the girl's teacher - Meagan. She basically told us that our children are the best. Which we of course knew already. Libby is scoring at the top of the charts for her age which means she is ready for kindergarten. The only thing Meagan wants her to do independently was go through the problem solving steps without any guidance. Meagan said that Libby can almost do that but occasionally needs adult help to remember the steps. Brynn was scoring 2's or 3's on everything. She should be barely scoring a 2 since she's not even 2 yet. So her scoring a solid 2 or maybe a 3 is crazy. Meagan said that Brynn is basically her star student, especially given her age. Brynn is a well rounded little girl. She can rote count to about 10 or 11 consistently. She will sit at circle time for almost the whole time and listen (something some of the bigger kids can't even do). Brynn can also play a pretend game with a friend for 30 minutes or more without becoming distracted. Her attention span is very long for her age. Meagan told us that she plans extra stuff in her lessons to accommodate our girls and their interests. We're so very proud of them!

April in Missouri

It's 87 degrees outside at our house right now. I can't believe how nice it is today. It's very windy but I really don't mind. The high tomorrow is 53. That's Missouri for you - unpredictable this time of year. I had to go to the library on campus to copy some reference books for a class that I'm taking so after I was done there we walked over to the quad. The girls had fun running around in the grass and climbing up onto the columns.
