Libby's Dance Recital 2011

Libby's recital was last weekend. She performed her routine better than I've ever seen her do it! She's sort of difficult to find but there's a really tall girl in the middle of the group. Libby is just to your left of that girl and partway through the dance, she holds hands with her. I apologize for the quality of the video. I had to tape it off a video with my camera to be able to upload it to the blog.

First Day of Summer School

Libby went to summer school today. She was in kindergarten at the school she will attend in the fall if Mike ends up getting the job we want him to get here. She loved it! I picked her up today and she cried because she wanted to ride the bus home. So we decided that most days she will be a drop off in the morning and bus rider home. She seemed okay with that. She said that she had fun but was exhausted when she got home. She didn't eat much of her lunch either but that's okay and there was some confusion with milk at lunch. I packed her a water bottle but I guess she still ended up with a milk. Her teacher for summer school is a 35 year veteran teacher and also named Libby. She told me that she's NEVER had a Libby in her room in all those years. She seems very nice and even handled Libby's early questions about the guinea pig this morning well. Of course, my Libby was the ONLY child asking the teacher questions before the day even started.

It seems that all in all she had an excellent day.

Last day of preschool

Today was Libby's last day of preschool and Brynn's last day for now. Brynn was going to go 2 days a week all summer but with Mike out of work we just can't afford it right now. So, I was completely prepared for it to be Libby's last day but not for Brynn. It was slightly emotional for me. I really like this daycare and enjoy the teachers there a lot. They are dedicated people who love my girls and have worked with me along the way to help Libby and Brynn become the best little people they could be. I hope Mike gets a job around here so that we can continue to take Brynn there in the future.

Libby with her teacher Meagan. Meagan has been her teacher for the past 2+ years at 2 different preschools. She is fantastic. She has seen Libby grow up and mature so much. Yesterday she commented to me that she used to change Libby's diapers before Libby was confident enough to be potty trained.

Brynn was not drunk in this picture. She was trying to get away from Meagan so that she could see the picture on the back of the camera before I was done taking it.

Again... not drunk... I'm not sure what her deal was here though.

Heather and Meagan - Thank you for everything you have done for my girls this year. We have also really enjoyed the other part time teachers that have worked there this year - Chelsea, Hailey, Julie, and Jordan. What a fantastic experience this has been for our family!

Keep us in your thoughts and prayers

In case you haven't heard, Mike lost his job this week. We need all the positive thoughts and prayers we can get right now. Also if you do not use coupons but get them in the newspaper, we would appreciate them. Mike worked in higher education in admissions, recruitment, enrollment, and retention. If you know of any openings please email us/him. He's willing to work in fields outside of education but just isn't sure where to look for some of those.
