Libby is starting to show signs of readiness for potty training. Unfortunately, we know nothing about it. Anyone with any advice is free to comment. She talks about the potty whenever one of us is using it. She has started asking for diaper changes when she's just a little bit wet (not all the time but occasionally). She's staying dry for longer periods of time. I think we've still got a ways to go, but she is starting to show some signs. Any advice is welcome!!
Mike has been feeling pretty crummy lately and last night he needed to sleep sitting up so he slept on the couch. This morning, Libby climbed up onto it and covered herself up and said, "nigh nigh." She looks like such a big girl. It seems like everyday there is something new she learns to say or do. Our little baby isn't such a baby anymore! She's really turning into a little girl.

Hi, this is Colette; I worked with Mike at WWU.
I started Winona by letting her be on the potty seat while running her bath water. That always made her go and then we cheered.
Bribery works! After we got started off good, we made a poster with a goal of something she wanted at the end. She picked one of those little foam princess couches. I printed a picture from on-line and put it at the end. I then let her pick out stickers she liked and she earned one sticker for #1 and 2 for #2. We had a couch in no time.
Getting to pick big girl panties helped too. I did switch to the heavier cloth training pants for a short time; I let her wear them while we were at home. Some people don’t care for the pull-ups, but I thought they were great. They have fun characters and we could leave the house without worry of an accident.
Be prepared for clean up and pack lots of extra clothing. The hardest part for me was remembering to take her to the bathroom to try. I wanted to have her on the seat every hour or so but I would forget so I started setting a timer when at home.
We also read lots of books about potty training to her; she liked The Potty Book - For Girls by Alyssa Satin Capucilli and Dorothy Stott the best.
GOOD LUCK!
