Libby's Newest Words

Libby has been talking lately like a big kid. We can understand her and she is very aware of what is going on around her - much more that I thought possible. Here are some examples:

We had to take Zeb to the vet last weekend for his yearly checkup. When the vet took him in the back to weigh him (which is always an amazingly large number) she looked at us with questioning eyes. When I asked her where they took Zebbie, she replied, "in back" clear as day. Even the vet was surprised.

Looking at a book she will repeatedly, without prompting, say "buh buh" for book.

She was looking at one book in particular that has pictures of animals in it and said zebra after some prompting.

When we tell her "no" she will sometimes look at us and say "op! op!" for "Stop! Stop!". I can't quite figure if she's telling us to stop telling her no or telling herself to stop doing whatever it is she is doing incorrectly. We're not too sure where she came up with that one but it's kind of cute.

She said "bue" at the babysitters for blue.

She said "I love" to a tray full of Cheerios.

She has been attempting to say sit but it comes out a little more like sh*t.

She can also get on her ride on toy all by herself now and is very proud of herself. I wish I could have captured it on video the first time she did it. She looked at me with eyes that said "Mom, did you just see what I did?" I of course cheered for her and she squealed with delight at her accomplishment. She has continued to squeal about this accomplishment all week long.
