I feel like it's been awhile since I've posted. It's been a hectic school year for me. We've had MAJOR schedule changes, a new principal, lots of new staff, and a new counseling coordinator. It almost feels like it's my first year all over again. I'm tired a lot of the time - basically just pure exhaustion, but I'm really not complaining. I feel like this will be a good year. It's just going to be one of those that I am really earning my summer.
Anyway, the girls are doing great. Libby started back up at dance class 3 weeks ago. She also started Sunday School classes at church. She goes for an hour and fifteen minutes every Sunday. She really likes it but I feel a little guilty because I hated my religion classes as a kid. The first week she said they talked about treasure like lost pennies. My friend said it sounded a little like Pirate School so who could dislike that? Plus her good friend Paige is in the class too. Win-win.
Libby and I also walked in the Susan G. Komen 5K about a week ago. She walked more than half of it even though it was pouring rain by the end of it. If my phone had not died because of all the water that day I was going to try to get a picture at the end. It's really for the best though that I didn't get one because Libby was miserable. It was supposed to be 90 degrees and sunny that day but it ended up being about 70 and rainy. We walked at 8 am and it was not raining when the walk started (although it had been raining before the walk). I really thought we'd be able to walk without rain. I was wrong. By the end of it, we were completely soaked. We could pour water out of our shoes. I had promised Libby a donut at the end of the walk but we had to go home and get some dry clothes on first. All in all she did great and I think we'll do it again next year. We both had a good time even with the rain.
Libby's class is learning about fire safety this week. She came home yesterday talking all about smoke detectors and what do if you hear one. She said: "When I am playing in my room and hear a smoke alarm, I need to go outside. I need to walk and not act like a head without a chicken. Then we go to our meeting spot." HA! Her teacher told them that basically they need to remain calm outside and not run around like a chicken with their heads cut off! At least she understood the concept if not the expression.
Brynn ready for church. I know her tights don't match. They're supposed to look like that. They're Little Miss Matched which is probably one of my new favorite brands for the girls (and me - who am I kidding).
Libby ready for Sunday School. It was cold here Sunday, can you tell?
